It goes without saying that appearance is important when selecting women’s beach swimwear. Choosing between a bikini and a one-piece for your beach days is primarily an aesthetic decision. Every design can emphasize your curves or, in certain situations, help you conceal what you consider to be your “weak spots.”
What counts when choosing a swimsuit?
Let’s be honest: as the days lengthen and you can almost smell summer in the air, picking for a new swimsuit can truly lift our spirits, telling us that summer is just around the corner.
Women’s beach swimwear is divided into four categories: one-piece, two-piece, trikini (a revealing one-piece that exposes much of the body), and tankini (briefs + top).
When making your decision, four key elements must be considered:
- Quality: If you want your new swimsuit to be “good” as well as just look good, pay close attention to the fabrics, colors, and other aspects.
- Colour: If you have fair skin, choose for bright colors that will bring out even the most subtle tan. If you have dark complexion, choose lighter colors to create a nice contrast with your skin tone.
- Use: This may not be the most crucial element, but if you intend to swim frequently, you will need a comfortable swimsuit, and if you enjoy sunbathing, you will need something a little more scant. What if you’re solely interested in the fashion aspect? That is simple: select something spectacular!
- Body type (or, in other words, tell me your body type and I’ll tell you which swimsuit to choose). When it comes to beachwear for ladies, your body form is everything. The appropriate style for you is somewhere out there: high-cut or high-waisted briefs, boy-shorts or bottoms with ties, a triangle or padded bra. You only need to know how to select it.
What body shape are you?
1. INVERTED TRIANGLE
Your body shape: You have thin legs and shoulders that are wider than hips.
What to wear: A high-cut two-piece with a high waist is the best swimwear for you. It will make your legs appear longer and your hips appear wider.
2. PEAR
Your body shape: Your hips are wider than your shoulders, as opposed to the inverted triangle.
What to wear: a two-piece with a padded or push-up bra to elongate your bust. Low-waisted briefs will lengthen your torso.
3. APPLE
Your body shape: you have shapely feminine forms and a narrow waist.
What to wear: a one-piece with a low-cut top to highlight your cleavage. Skirted bottoms will look great on you. A two-piece suit will also work, preferably with a high waist.
4. LARGE HOURGLASSOR FIGURE OF “8”
Your body shape: You have excellent proportions, with shoulders and hips that are the same width and a thin waist.
What to choose: All bikinis look great on you, but a pin-up retro-style bikini is the finest. However, if you have a large bust, avoid bandeau tops, which have an exaggerated flattening effect.
5. DOUBLE TRIANGLE OR HOURGLASS
Your body shape: You have the shape of a huge hourglass, but you’re more athletic and strong.
What to choose: All bikinis are flattering on you, but a high-cut swimsuit or a swimsuit with low-waisted boy shorts is the finest option. Avoid wearing ties that attract attention to your broad hips.
6. RULER
Your body shape: You have a long and shapely body with shoulders, hips, and a waist that are all the same width.
What to choose: You should wear a triangle bikini with ties. A halter neck swimsuit will draw attention to your shoulders and accentuate your curves. Boy-shorts will highlight your shapely booty.
